Toastmasters International President visits Batelco Toastmasters Club

Toastmasters International President Jonny Uy has paid a visit to Batelco recently, as part of his visit to the Middle East.

Batelco Information Systems General Manager Saleh Tarradah, who is Acting President of Batelco Toastmasters, received the distinguished guest at Batelco Staff Centre in Hamala. The event was attended by members from both Batelco Toastmasters Clubs as well as other Toastmasters Clubs.

Mr. Uy praised the achievements that Batelco Toastmasters Club accomplished in their first year in operation, including the success of Noreen Haji who took third place in the International Speech Contest held as part of Bahrain Toastmasters Annual Conference in April. Mr. Uy also presented a speech about the role of toastmasters in developing the skills of interaction and communication among people.

Toastmasters International is a non proft organisaiton and was established in 1924 in USA to afford practice and training in the art of public speaking and while presiding over meetings, and to promote sociability and good fellowship among its members.
