- PRESS RELEASE
The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has made a successful appearance at the spring convention of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC).
This year's convention attracted more than 50,000 visitors.
ADTA, which participated in the annual convention under the pavilion of the ALDAR Properties, was represented by Ati Al Dhaheri and Saeed Al Dhaheri from ADTA's Marketing Division. ADTA's participation in the show was part of its support for ALDAR properties' efforts to promote its real estate and commercial projects, to boost Abu Dhabi's position as a unique destination for shopping and to attract more foreign investment to Abu Dhabi's shopping centre sector.
The ICSC convention, which was first held in 1957, is the global trade association of the shopping centre industry. The council has more than 65,000 members from the United States, Canada and about 80 other countries. Members include shopping centre owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers and other professionals as well as academics and public officials.
As the global industry trade association, the Council works in collaboration with other regional and international bodies related to shopping centres operation.
The ICSC aims at promoting the role of shopping centers in the marketing of consumer goods and services, establishing codes of fair business ethics and dealings with retailers and consumers and with government and public agencies, encouraging research into the architecture and design of shopping centers and into the development of improved management and maintenance methods, collecting and disseminating information among members pertaining to techniques of profitable operation, which can serve to improve the individual shopping center and the industry, study economic, marketing and promotional conditions affecting the shopping center industry and promoting the prestige and standing of members as reputable specialists in the field of shopping center development and management.
