  • PRESS RELEASE

Dr. Gudrun G. Vogt, founder and CEO of Swiss-based Targetsim and director of Targetsim FZ-LLC at the Dubai Knowledge Village has been nominated finalist for the Business Women of the Year 2007 Award in Switzerland.

Created by the House Veuve Clicquot in 1972 this award is dedicated to successful business women who also have a distinguished track record in spearheading Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

Gudrun Vogt has been nominated for her outstanding achievements in designing and delivering board simulation based learning solutions for global players supporting them in transforming strategy into action.

Motivated by successful cooperations and results achieved with local and international companies in the UAE, Targetsim now expanded by new partnerships in Qatar and Kuwait. On the occasion of the two recent Discovery Sessions in Qatar and Kuwait with Targetsim local partner Alnokhba Development Centre Qatar and Al Jawab Consulting Kuwait, participants from major companies and banks discovered the benefits of the simulation methodology. Since March 2005, when Targetsim opened its Middle East regional office in the Dubai Knowledge Village, the methodology of interactive business simulation became well noted for its practical "learning-by-doing" approach.

Financial know how is crucial for today's executives and their daily business, since managers from all departments should understand their company's overall strategy also in terms of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). "Learning with business simulations is pure edutainment and highly efficient", says Gudrun Vogt. "The touch-and-feel method makes learning almost a kid's play. Non-financial professionals love this way of learning". Participants take control of a simulated business and make decisions, which ultimately determine success. Employees understand their own company's financial underpinnings, and are more prone to come up with workable creative solutions because they can better evaluate financial outcomes.
Targetsim challenged employees from major international companies with interactive simulations, such as Hewlett Packard, Oracle, ABB, Hofmann-La-Roche, Etisalat, National Bank of Dubai, Al-Rajhi Bank, to name a few. The new learning methodology enhances performance and saves time and money.
