Energy efficient buildings cost less to operate, and provide a superior indoor environment, which can result in improved employee productivity and customer satisfaction. That's what facility managers learned during a one-hour session led by Mr. Sai Srikanth of Trane.

During the session, Mr. Sai Srikanth, controls manager for the U.A.E and Gulf, addressed some of the main problems currently faced by facility managers in the region, and suggested practical, economic solutions.

"Some of the main problems faced by facility managers in the region are high energy consumption, maintenance, and equipment wear," said Srikanth. "They can address many of these challenges through energy efficient buildings that use technology and processes to create a building that is safer and more productive for its occupants and more operationally efficient for its owners."

He went on saying that chiller plants are critical to the comfort of occupants, as well as a major consumer of energy. Srikanth explained how to effectively control, and remotely monitor multiple chiller plants from one central location.

He also introduced Trane Tracer Summit Building Management Systems that optimizes the chiller plant, manages energy and raises alarms in the event of faults. He concluded by explaining how proactive maintenance schedule will increase the reliability and life of the Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems(HVAC).
