HSBC further expanded its customer service unit network to 8 following the opening of its unit in Al Garhoud area.

An opening ceremony, held on 5 June 2007, was attended by newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Youssef Nasr, as well as Lester Wynne-Jones, Regional Head of Personal Financial Services. Also present were Khaled Rasheed, Senior Manager Deira Branch, Daffer Luqman, Head of Branch Management and a number of guests, customers and staff of HSBC.

Mr. Nasr said:

"Opening the new Customer Service Unit has enabled HSBC to expand into this booming area. The unit will not only allow us to offer convenience backed by experienced staff to our customers, but it also reinforces our commitment to the country. The outlet complement HSBC's other customer delivery channels including branches, a 24-hour toll-free phone banking service, personal Internet banking and conveniently located ATM network."

The unit presents a one-stop-shop for personal banking customers who will be able to submit applications for new accounts, loans, credit cards, cheque books, Islamic financial solutions including HSBC Amanah current accounts and Charge Card and other products and services. Specialist advice can be arranged for investment, insurance, mortgage, offshore, and business banking. An Internet kiosk is also available for customers as well as a multi-functional ATM for instant cash or cheque deposits. The centre is staffed by a team of 11 and will be open from Saturday - Thursday 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.

"Deira has been Dubai's old established business centre for many years and is still growing. Being close to our customers and giving them access to our services is a key
aim for us. We are always looking for ways to make banking for customers easier in terms of distribution and accessibility. In addition to this unit, we plan to add another two
units in the same area by end of the year," added Lester Wynne-Jones, Regional Head of Personal Financial Services, HSBC Bank Middle East Limited.

With products and services designed around the needs of customers, HSBC is a market leader in delivering value and convenience, offering a full range of financial services: personal financial services (including consumer finance); commercial banking; corporate, investment banking and markets; and private banking.
