Marubeni expects $3bn Fujairah 2

Marubeni Corp is expecting to win the $3bn Fujairah 2 independent water and power project in the UAE with its UK-based partner International Power, a spokesperson for the Japanese company told Bloomberg. The Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority is the client. The project involves a 2,000MW power plant and 130m gallon-a-day desalination unit. A contract is likely to be awarded in July 2007, the report said.
