Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, a key sponsor in Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2007

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) announced recently its first time sponsorship for Dubai Summer Surprises 2007 (DSS), the most celebrated summer event in the region.
H.E. Engineer Hamad Mubarak Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, highlighted the important participation and sponsorship of the Chamber to the entertaining activities of Dubai Summer Surprises and its social role as one of other key sponsors of the event. Dubai Chamber's sponsorship to DSS goes in line with its strategy in supporting the local society through providing children with enjoyment and knowledge during summer time, along with the Chamber's key role in serving the business community of the emirate.
Buamim said that Dubai Chamber is one of the key sponsors in the DSS activities which will be conducted from June 21 to August 31. It aims at offering the UAE nationals, expatriates and visitors of Dubai, mainly children, with lots of joy and entertainment. The children will have 10 weeks of enjoyment and variable entertaining activities with their favorite friend "Mudhesh" who will accompany them in their summer vacation.
"Dubai Chamber decided to be one of the DSS key sponsors from various establishments who join their efforts to make the DSS event a success in its 10th anniversary. Dubai Chamber's participation reflects its support to the local business community and retail sector to give shoppers and visitors, from adults and juniors, an enjoyable shopping experience flavored with a series of daily entertaining activities and shows for 10 weeks," said Buamim.
Nuha Mohammed Safar, Director of Marketing and Communication Department at Dubai Chamber, stressed the social role played by the Chamber through participating and sponsoring the activities of DSS. She added that Dubai Chamber used to participate in the DSS during the past 10 years through handling the activities of one of the DSS 10 weeks.
"Every summer, Dubai Chamber used to organize variable activities concerning one of the DSS 10 weeks to reflect its social support to the local society, as well as its permanent role in supporting Dubai retail sector which helped develop the trade sector which covers more than 24% of Dubai's GDP," said Safar.
In 2006, Dubai Chamber organized the activities of the Cartoon Surprises Week of DSS which included a variety of entertaining and educational activities targeting the children from all nationalities. These activities were conducted in a comic way with the company of various cartoon characters who helped in conveying the useful information and general knowledge to children, and in instilling ethical values, respect, love of school and the importance of hard work to achieve success.
Dubai Chamber also organized the DSS color surprises week in 2005, the knowledge week in 2004, the heritage week in 2003, and the snow surprises for several consecutive years.
