- PRESS RELEASE
Sharjah Tatweer Forum (Tatweer), the Emirate of Sharjah's ambitious initiative for building UAE Nationals' skills, recently announced its second Tatweer Leadership Programme for UAE Nationals selected from public and private sector organisations.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, Chairman of Sharjah Tatweer Forum said, "We are honoured to constantly receive the support and guidance of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and the Honorary Chairman of Tatweer. His presence at the graduation ceremony of the last program which ended in February this year, goes to underline his support to us and we believe that his generous patronage marks the first step towards achieving our goal of building a reservoir of leaders among UAE youth who will lead business enterprises in future and develop profitable links between private and public sector organisations."
The candidates for the Tatweer Leadership Programme will be chosen from among UAE Nationals working in various public and private sector organisations after a careful selection process. This process will include psychometric assessments and testing for English language skills. The programme will be conducted over 12 sessions of two days per month and will feature visits to local organisations, lectures by visiting speakers; social events such as business breakfasts and dinners; presentations; individual research and sharing of information; group work; oral discussions; psychometric assessments and written materials.
During the six-month long programme, candidates will be exposed to concepts, best practices and effective approaches to customer relationship management, strategic thinking, organisational development, leadership and team building, analytical thinking and problem solving, executive coaching, mentoring and the use of psychometric assessment in selection and development of human resources.
The deadline to receive applications for the programme is June 28, 2007, followed by the assessment process which includes resume evaluations based on oral and written standards.
Conditions for applying to the second Tatweer Leadership Programme - which will commence in September 2007 - also include professional experience of no less than three years in a leading position in the private or public sector.
"We work closely on optimizing participants' benefit from the Tatweer Leadership Programme in order to support them with enough opportunities to learn about governance and business, meet decision-makers and explore their own potential. This encourages them to give their best towards achieving sustainable development and economic growth of Sharjah and the UAE," Al Mahmoudi added.
Formed under a decree issued by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the UAE Supreme Council, the Forum works towards developing the skills and competencies of National youth in Sharjah, building partnerships between the private and public sectors, encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation and excellence in business and administration and ensuring the emirate's overall progress.
