Young Arab Leaders and DaimlerChrysler launch the Arab European Internship Exchange and Top Talent Programs for 2007

The Young Arab Leaders and luxury carmaker DaimlerChrysler today announced the participation of 10 students and 20 young professionals from various Arab countries in the Arab European Internship Exchange and Top Talent programs respectively.

The three to six month in-house internship program, an initiative by Young Arab Leaders (YAL) and DaimlerChrysler (DC), will bring together 10 selected students from the Arab world to Germany, to experience practical work and manage diversity in the Arabian and European business context. Interns will be given a specific insight into one of these fields: sales, marketing, finance and controlling, information technology, purchasing, logistics and quality assurance.

Saeed Al Muntafiq, Chairman of the Young Arab Leaders, said: "The Arab European Internship Exchange program provides an opportunity to Arab students to gain experience and insight into how large organizations operate in international markets."

The Top Talent program will cover a number of key areas including management of cultures, market research, international business and production management of the industrial value chain. The program is composed of 2 modules, the first to take place in Stuttgart Germany followed by six month virtual team cooperation between the Germany and Arab young professionals and concluded by the second to take place at The American University in Dubai in January 2008.

"The intensive networking between future junior managers from the Arab world and Europe will benefit the Young Professionals to understand how diversity is managed in different contexts and develop reliable networks through intensive work on common tasks."

Ruediger Grube, Member of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler, remarked: "Our cooperation with YAL shows that DaimlerChrysler is fully committed to support the development of the youth of the Arab Region. The Internship Exchange Program and the Top Talent Camp are bold possibilities to experience global business challenges in the Arab European context and to further foster and strengthen the relationship between the Arab and the European World."
