Gonu death toll rises

The death toll from Cyclone Gonu which battered parts of the Gulf before moving on to Iran, has risen to around 70, according to reports. It is now thought 49 people were killed in Oman, with 27 more still missing, while Iran's Mehr news agency said yesterday, Saturday, that at least 12 people had been killed in the south of the country. Conditions are gradually returning to normal.
