Qatar Foundation and EDS sign major data centre and IT services contract

EDS announced today that Qatar Foundation has awarded it a 7 year Data Centre and Information Technology (IT) Services contract.
"This agreement is a milestone in our IT strategic plan and will expedite our ability to supply service excellence to the members of Qatar Foundation; it further aids us by creating another channel under the Foundation's umbrella to help transform the State into a knowledge based society. We are very pleased to have signed EDS as our partner. EDS supports our mission of transformation and will aid the Foundation beyond the application of IT services through the leverage of their global resource pool of expertise" said Rashid Al Naimi, Vice President - Administration for Qatar Foundation.

This contract with Qatar Foundation also reinforces EDS' position as a truly global IT outsourcing services provider. Regionally, EDS and its affiliates in Qatar, UAE and Bahrain have almost 700 professional staff in the Gulf supplying a diverse client base from Government, Energy & Utilities, Transport and Healthcare making EDS the largest and most reputed outsourcing operation in the Middle East. Nearly 50% of these staff are GCC nationals.
