Speaking at the launch of the Kiosks, Arif Khan, Area Business Manager, Middle East, North Africa and French Territories, Kodak (Near East) Inc, commented, "With Kodak's ever increasing importance in the digital-photo arena, it is no surprise that the launch has been rapidly scheduled for the (MENA) region which has seen strong growth for Kodak over the years. Importantly as leaders in field, we have a commitment to our discerning consumers to always deliver the latest technology that is relevant to their lifestyle and tailored to their unique needs."
Privacy in developing photographs
Dubbed as "your very own photo lab", the Kiosks are stand - alone machines with easily operable touch-screens. This user friendly interface allows users to choose and print their photographs in private. Within seconds each print is done and if need be, can be further personalized to add borders, captions all on Kodak quality paper.
These Kiosks are now located in the electronics section of selected Carrefour outlets across all Emirates. Additionally, users can only pick up the Kiosk pre-paid card at the cash counter at discounted prices.
Bluetooth option
Users can simply download photographs from a digital camera memory stick or from a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. The option for Bluetooth downloads is likely to make the Kiosk a popular option with teenagers and other technology early adopters, who currently take a bulk of their photographs using built-in cameras on their mobile phones.
The Kiosks have been a major hit in several cites across the globe including Hong Kong, and London and is expected to see huge turnouts in Dubai and other major capitals across the region, with the roll-out commencing over summer.
