DWTC to co-host educational programme for Middle East event management professionals

Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) have joined forces to offer regional managers, government officials, project managers, and event organizers the chance to obtain a specialised degree in event management.

This is the first academic programme of its kind ever to be offered in the region. Attendees will benefit from seminars conducted by industry leading experts. Face-to-face and e-learning sessions will not only help professionals understand the technical aspects of event management more thoroughly, but also upgrade their management qualifications.

UFI promotes, serves, and represents the international exhibition industry. A 315-member organisation, it is present in 73 countries, with members managing and operating over 4,500 exhibitions globally.

The DWTC is the market leader in the conferences and exhibitions sector for the entire Middle East, which is now an AED 12 billion (US 3.37 billion) a year industry. In attracting such a major industry event to Dubai, DWTC has underlined its strength as a world-class venue, and as an advocate of higher learning. The DWTC further reinforcing its commitment to developing the industry by educating professionals in the exhibition industry.

With its unmatched experience in organising and educating industry professionals, UFI will enable us to work together to develop and improve local industry standards to meet the exacting requirements of international organisers," added Al Marri.

The DWTC and UFI will co- host the EMD course in Basic Exhibition Management 1 from August 11 to 16, 2007, and the Advanced Studies in Exhibition Management II course from January 19 to 24, 2008.
