Australian Embassy Amman announces 140 regional scholarships at SAE Institute Amman

The Australian Embassy Amman announced yesrterday a new regional scholarship program in support of students wishing to study at the new SAE Institute Amman Campus.

This unique initiative was announced by H.E. Mr. Trevor Peacock, Ambassador, Australia, Mr. Romy Hawatt, Senior Executive SAE International and Mr. Ibrahim Al Safadi, CEO, SAE Institute Jordan. Founded in Australia 30 years ago, SAE is now the world's largest arts and creative media technologies education provider with campuses in 49 cities across 22 countries and has maintained a policy of 'equal opportunity in education' and 'unity in diversity' facilitating & provisioning for a variety of nationalities to come together on it's campuses.

The scholarships will cover 50% of the student's tuition for a one year international diploma program, with Australian accreditation in film making, 3D animation, multi-media and graphic design and audio engineering.

Detailed information on the scholarship program is available on line. Applications may be accepted on-line until August 16th 2007. Successful applicants will be announced in early September 2007 and studies will commence in October 2007. The selection will be based on a cross section of criteria which includes creativity, economic circumstances and the potential of the student to value add to their community upon graduation. The selections will be made by an SAE Scholarship Committee.

Allocations for the 140 scholarships for the Levant and North Africa are broken down as follows: Egypt, 30; Sudan, 10; Jordan, 10; Iraq, 30; Palestine, 20; Lebanon, 20; and Syria, 20.

In addition to this, Jordan scholarship winners may utilize their scholarship for the two year diploma program which has both international and local accreditation by the Jordan Ministry of Higher Education and Al Balqa University. Upon graduation, all students will be better positioned for consideration - subject to visa application criteria at the time - to continue studies for a degree qualification at one of the SAE degree centers in Australia.

The scholarships will enable students from across the region to study & be provided with hands on training in a multi-million dollar state of the art facility and equipment in Amman. The SAE Amman campus is the most modern & well resourced educational facility of its kind in the entire Middle East," said Ibrahim Al Safadi, CEO, SAE Institute Jordan.

The objective is to provide this unique study program withas broad an applicant base as possible and the scholarship fund will pay 50% of the published course fees on behalf of the successful applicant, thus effectively growing the number of students that may take advantage of experiencing an SAE education in SAE's newest facility in Amman.
