EEG Can Collection Campaign achievements awarded by Coca-Cola

In line with the active involvement of Coca-Cola in local environmental programs, the company has participated in the Can Collection Campaign organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) in UAE, and coinciding with World Environment Day, awarded the 2nd prize winner of the educational institution category.

The awarding took place during the EEG's annual Prize Giving Ceremony on June 5, which was held under the patronage of the Minister of Environment and Water, HE Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi.

EEG's Can Collection Campaign commenced during the late 1990's is among the most successful community waste segregation activities ever to be initiated and run in the United Arab Emirates.

Commenting on the long-standing partnership with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), Lubna Forzley, Public Affairs and Communications Manager, Coca-Cola Middle East, said: "Sharing the commitment of protecting and preserving our environment is what brings Coca-Cola and the Emirates Environmental Group together. We are proud to be corporate members of EEG, the leading environmental group in the country, and to take part in the organization's continuous efforts."

Environmental stewardship is integrated in many of Coca-Cola's business decisions and the Company is active in the environmental development field. In addition to the support extended by Coca-Cola to environmental programs in UAE, the company has initiated several environmental programs across the region, which has had a positive impact. Some of the successful programs are the CedaRoots in Lebanon through which the Company planted a cedar forest to help preserve the national symbol, and the Nazih and Wartan environmental awareness campaign implemented with Al-Baik in Saudi Arabia.
