Etisalat will bring these to market through an extended retail channel bringing the power of BlackBerry to all individual and enterprise customers in the UAE.
BlackBerry 8800 smart phone introduced in UAE
The new BlackBerry Smart phone 8800 has been introduced for BlackBerry users in the UAE. Equipped with a highly tactile QWERTY keyboard and RIM's user-friendly trackball navigation system, the BlackBerry 8800 also includes multimedia features, a microSD expandable memory slot and a built in GPS feature that allows the device to locate itself on an online Maps system. From 17th June 2007, the 8800 device will be available at Etisalat Business Centres and authorised retailers.
In addition to this launch, Etisalat has announced further enhancements to its BlackBerry offering, which will benefit both individual users and Business customers. The popular BlackBerry 8100 'Pearl' will now be available in red and white colours, as well as black.
Etisalat launches new BlackBerry package
The new package being offered for BlackBerry Internet Service users is the 3MB package, which brings the benefits of BlackBerry connectivity to light users.
Etisalat expands BlackBerry distribution network with 7 retail agreements
To make its BlackBerry service more easily accessible across the nation, Etisalat has entered retail agreements with seven large chains, including Cellucom, Jumbo, Plug Ins, Sharaf DG, Jacky's, Global Link and I2. All stores belonging to these chains will sell the devices, and customers can activate their BlackBerry Internet Service accounts swiftly and easily sending an SMS or calling 101.
Etisalat currently offers the BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution™(BES) which allows mobile users in corporates to access communications and information wirelessly. BlackBerry Enterprise Service tightly integrates with Microsoft® Exchange, Novell GroupWise® and IBM Lotus® Domino® and works with existing enterprise systems to enable secure, push-based wireless access to email and other corporate data.
Etisalat also offers the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) which has been designed to provide individuals or small businesses with all the mobility benefits of BlackBerry from web browsing, push email to Instant Messaging.
