40 years of oil left

The world has enough proven oil reserves for 40 years of consumption at current rates, according to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy, cited by the Financial Times. The review found that world's proven reserves of natural gas rose slightly, and are enough to provide more than 60 years of current consumption. Renewable energy use was growing quickly but from a very low base.
