The CBB won the e-Government Award category in the e-Content Awards organized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Bahrain Internet Society. The awards are aimed at encouraging creativity in the domestic e-content.

The e-Content Awards, in eight categories, were presented today by H.E. Dr Hassan Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, during a ceremony at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

The CBB's award was received by Mr. Yousif Al Fadhel, Director, Information Technology, at the CBB.

"The CBB is delighted to be the recipient of the e-Government Award," said Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Baker, Executive Director, Financial Institutions Supervision, at the CBB.

The award category recognizes an institution's efforts in empowering citizens and serving public services clients; fostering quality and efficiency of information exchange and communications services in governmental and public administrative processes; and strengthening participation of citizens in information society decision-making.

The CBB website, which was upgraded and redesigned earlier this year, provides enhanced accessibility to the CBB and provides a useful source of information to the public.

"The CBB views the website to be an important means of communication and we are aiming to continuously improve it," said Mr. Al Baker.

"We hope the website, along with CBB's many other initiatives, will continue to reinforce Bahrain's status as the pre-eminent financial center and ensure the continued expansion of the country's financial services industry."
