Venture capital and transparency will drive online growth

A culture of transparency and more venture capital is needed to build on the rapid online growth businesses are experiencing in Arab regions. Greater trade transparency will improve trust among consumers when conducting transactions over the internet, said Omar Hijazi, CEO of online marketplace Tejari. More venture capitalists will help the region develop the next YouTube or MySpace in the Middle East he told delegates at yesterday's Verge digital media conference.
