Seagate Technology appoints Christain Assaf new Channel Sales Representative for Middle East and Africa

Seagate Technology has announced the appointment of Christian Assaf as a new Channel Manager for the Middle East and Africa as of June 2007.

Assaf will be working closely with Ziad Abu Rahal, Channel Manager Middle East and Africa, and under the guidance of Gulfem Cakmakci, Channel Sr. Sales Manager, East Europe, Middle East and Africa, Christian will handle and build new channel relations across the Middle East and North Africa excluding Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where Abu Rahal will focus mainly on. This will lead to a progressive growth in market share in the region.

Christian will also be responsible to work on and develop untouched markets in this region where Seagate is yet to excel in market share and this includes markets with minimal presence. Assaf has 14 years experience in IT industry. Before establishing his own distribution company in Lebanon, he worked for Compuleb where he helped the company to expand to Levant and African Market.

Assaf started his career in computer business in 1989 where he had his first retail shop along with his university studies. After Graduating holding a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, He moved to wholesale business and managed in a short time to be one of the major suppliers for "CPU, Memory, HDD" in Lebanon. In 1997, he Helped Mr. Karim Boulos to start Compuleb S.A.L, one of the biggest retail shops in the region as well as leaders in distributing computer parts. He became Sales and Purchasing manager due to his experience and knowledge of the market in Lebanon. He expanded Compuleb's business regionally especially in Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia for Maxtor, Linksys Networking and Procomp products. Compuleb had been a Seagate partner for the past 6 years and he is very well familiar with Seagate's top line of storage solutions.
