Saudi consumes more oil

Saudi Arabia's oil consumption rose by 6.2% to 2m barrels per day last year, up from 1.9m bpd in 2005, due to its ongoing economic expansion, reported Arab News citing figures from the BP Statistical Review of World Energy. Meanwhile, the kingdom's oil production for the international market dipped by 2.3% but its natural gas production rose by 3.5% from 71.2bn cubic metres in 2005 to 73.7bn cubic metres last year.
