Add an extra night free to a three night stay for a perfectly long weekend getaway.

"If you are melting in the heat of the rest of the Gulf, or freezing in the air conditioning, Salalah is a welcome break, and with direct Jazeera Airways flights from Dubai and from Kuwait (via Dubai) very accessible. The Hilton For Free offer is also a great way to extend holidays for free. Stay three nights, get one additional night free. Stay five nights, get two free and stay seven nights get three free," said Michael Bamberg, General Manager, Hilton Salalah Resort.

Salalah enjoys a temperate climate throughout most of the year, but during the Khareef or the monsoon, which takes place from late June to early September, the light afternoon rains and cool breezes make it a refuge from the scorching weather in the rest of the GCC.

The 'Perfume Capital of Arabia,' known for its frankincense trees, plays host to numerous fairs during this season, and is a magnet for holidaymakers, who flock to the historic sites and its natural beauty. Some popular destinations include picturesque ancient forts, stunning mountain passes and traditional Arabesque towns nestled on hillsides. Of particular interest is the port of Al Baled, built on the ruins of the frankincense trading port of Zafar, which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a stop on Ibn Batuta's legendary travels.

The 150-room property is located on a white sandy beach, looking onto the Dhofar mountains. The serene, laid-back atmosphere is inherent in its eateries, including bars and cafes where guests can while away the hours in the fresh, clear air.
