The campaign is under the theme 'Win a Dream Home in Dubai Lagoon'. Emarat has been a major sponsor of the event since its first launch a decade ago. As part of Emarat's promotional campaign, prizes worth more than AED 1.5 million will be offered to its customers, including a two bedroom apartment worth AED 1.3 million. This is in addition to a weekly draw for a cash amount of AED 25,000 and a quad bike.

According to Mr. Hussain Kazim, Emarat's Corporate Communications Manager, the corporation's successful sponsorship since the event's launch gives evidence to Emarat's concern to be part of any activity that will assist in boosting the country's economy and society for the benefit of the nation and its people.

He added: "These festivities represent a major stride in the country's march towards development and prosperity and this is one of the reasons why it has attracted so much attention from the press and the people. This has main one our major incentive to become a partner in the event, and not only a sponsor. What we would like to do is to assert our partnership, year after year, through our continuous support for the event's various activities and their enrichment with our annual campaigns."

Mr. Kazim also said that "It's not by chance that Emarat has been involved with the event organizers through our sponsorship and our contribution to society. In fact, our aim is to create better awareness for the role we play within the UAE community and assert the values that we adhere to when it comes to social activities."

He asserted that this promotional campaign is an indication of the corporation's significant trust in the success of this mega economic event, which has been able to place itself on the regional map as one of the major events of its type in the GCC. "Not only has it contributed to the development of the local economy with its various festivities, but it has also put the UAE on the world map as a tourist destination during the summer season."

He emphasized that the promotional campaign, as part of this year's festivities, will be "very popular and will attract attention from the public due to the significance of the prize which consists of an apartment at the Lagoon".

Mr. Kazim congratulated HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the festival's Supreme Committee, and all organizers for celebrating the DSF 10th anniversary.

He also thanked Emarat's partners for this year's festival, especially Schon Properties, Dubai Lagoon and Axiom for their support of the campaign and commitment to its success by contributing with valuable prizes. He asserted the corporation's commitment to expand its relationships with other organizations through such endeavors.

Launched in 1998, Dubai Summer Surprises was conceived as the foremost family entertainment event during the summer season for the whole of GCC. Targeted at visitors from outside the UAE and within the country, DSS has been a major entertainment and shopping attraction since its inception and witnessed 1,875,000 visitors in the year 2006 compared to 600,000 in 1998. The event has succeeded in positioning Dubai as the leading summer destination in the region.

Organised by government departments with the cooperation of the public sector, the ten-week event is a celebration of different surprises that offer visitors and shoppers the perfect family entertainment opportunity and the ideal combination of shopping and adventure. Over the years DSS has hosted numerous surprises such as Food, Water, Global, Ice, Flower, Sports, Heritage, Arts, Techno, Cartoons, Colour, Sweets, Knowledge, and Back-2-School. The summer event lays special emphasis on children, who are provided all the opportunities to hone their skills while enjoying a fun-packed ten weeks of activities. DSS also has its own mascot, Modhesh, the ever smiling brand ambassador who embodies everything that the event stands for - fun, excitement, brightness and unlimited joy for children.

Dubai Summer Surprises as a venture has contributed significantly to the economy of Dubai and continues to do so by enhancing different economic sectors during a lean period of economic activity in summer. An increase in visitor expenditure from AED 850 million in 1998 to AED 2.57 billion in 2006 is a clear indication of the event's ability to drive economic growth during summer. Into its tenth year, Dubai Summer Surprises has come a long way by building on the successes of the previous editions and aims to create a benchmark for future years to provide the three most important characteristics of the event - shopping, winning, and entertainment.
