FAMCO ranked top material handling supplier

FAMCO (Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Co.) has received one of the top awards in the transportation and logistics sector.

Paul Floyd, FAMCO's Managing Director, was handed the Supply Chain and Transport Awards (SCATA) 2007 Material Handling Provider of the Year trophy at the industry's prestigious annual event, held at the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai.

More than 250 of the Middle East's leading logistics and transportation companies were represented at the event, organised by publisher ITP. "The award was designed to recognise and encourage outstanding performance. This is what FAMCO strives to deliver, and we are absolutely delighted to be recognised in this way," said Mr. Floyd.

"We offer a one-stop-shop for all warehouse and material-handling requirements. The award panel that conferred the honour on FAMCO included leading names in the industry, such as Michael Proffitt, CEO of Dubai Logistics City, Issa Baluch, CEO of Swift Freight International, Captain Mansoor Ghafoor, CEO of STALCO Group and President of the National Association of Freight Logistics. The judges confirmed that FAMCO showed exceptional performance in the field of Material Handling with its complete solutions for warehouse and material handling needs.

Robeel Haq, Senior Editor of ITP's logistics and transportation magazines, said, "What made FAMCO stand out in this award category was its ability to deliver a comprehensive solutions package for small, medium and large customers. The annual SCATA awards ceremony was organized by ITP to acknowledge the best-of- the-best, and set high standards for the Middle East's transportation and logistics industry. A total of 16 categories were covered, including the logistics, sea freight and air cargo sectors.

FAMCO's recent impressive list of awards include Best Distributor in the Middle East from Linde, Distributor of the Year from Dexion, Excellent Achievement Award from Volvo Truck Corporation, Excellent Customer Support from Volvo Construction Equipment, Sales Achievement Award from SDMO, Middle East Distributor of the Year from Ingersoll-Rand plus an appreciation award from HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nayan, for the successful completion of the delivery and installation of a fleet of Linde material handling machines with Dexion drive-in racking systems for the Al Foah Project.
