Aussie Rules in Dubai

The Dubai Polo Club may host the Middle East's first Australian Rules football game in February 2008, with AFL executives greenlighting the venue for a pre-season game, the Herald Sun reports. Clubs Adelaide and Collingwood, which is sponsored by Emirates, have both agreed to play. The AFL believes the game could attract 10,000 people due to the high number of Australian expatriates in Dubai, and says attracting sponsorship "will not be an issue".
