Guest speaker, tennis legend and entrepreneur David Lloyd, outlined his ambitious plans for the David Lloyd Next Generation Club & Tennis Academy at Victory Heights. Mark Chapleski, Area Managing Director of Troon Golf, highlighted progress of The Dunes, the Ernie Els Design 18-hole championship golf course, which will be operated and managed by Troon Golf.

Covering some 25 million square feet, Victory Heights is an exclusive golf course villa community offering 935 beautifully designed villas and town homes set in and around The Dunes golf course. Located within Dubai Sports City, the world's first integrated sports city, this sought-after development will present a comprehensive variety of amenities including schools, retail and community facilities and a world-class range of sports and leisure facilities.

David Lloyd, whilst on a short visit to Dubai to view progress of the new academy and leisure facility, attended the specially arranged press update to discuss his vision and plans for the first David Lloyd Next Generation Club & Tennis Academy facility in the Middle East. Once completed, the Next Generation Club and adjoining Le Spa facility will offer a complete range of sports and recreational facilities including squash courts, a rooftop badminton area, indoor and outdoor pools, outstanding treatment rooms and spa area, cafes and restaurants. The David Lloyd Tennis Academy will provide 15 tennis courts, nine external courts and six indoor air-conditioned courts with viewing galleries.

"The goal for the David Lloyd Tennis Academy is to provide a first-class environment where everyone can learn, develop and grow. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced player the academy will offer a wide variety of teaching options from some of the world's finest coaches," said David Lloyd.

Also during the update, Mark Chapleski unveiled the uniqueness of The Dunes, Ernie Els' first golf course design in the Middle East, which will be completed shortly and ready

for play at the end of this year. The Dunes will be a definitive mix of parkland, desert and a links-style course with natural undulation and conclusive pot bunkers to provide a challenge for all.

"The Dunes will provide a world-class facility aimed at amateurs and professionals, families and individuals, and will set the standard for golf course design in the region. Combining a links-style course with traditional 'classical era' design, it will be an exceptional course and will form the backdrop for the exclusive Victory Heights community," stated Mark Chapleski, Troon Golf.

Troon Golf, the world-leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing, will also manage operations at The Dunes Mediterranean-style golf clubhouse and the adjacent Butch Harmon School of Golf, the first such facility outside the United States.

"With Victory Heights, our aim is to provide an exclusive residential setting which offers homeowners the perfect balance between luxurious living and an active lifestyle. Not only will Victory Heights be one of the most prestigious addresses in Dubai, but it will also be in close proximity to some of the finest sporting and leisure facilities in the world,"

commented Yasser Abdulla, General Manager of Victory Heights.
