Toshiba goes ultra light

Toshiba says it has turned out the world's lightest notebook PC with optical disc drive, the Portege R500. The unit is available in single spindle, weighing 779 grams, and dual spindle configurations. Features include a 7-12.5hr battery life, 7mm optical disc drive, hard disc drive with up to 120GB, shock protection with 3D accelerometer and a transflective 12.1-inch diagonal widescreen LED backlit display, Toshiba said.
