Global Association of Risk Professionals announces Fulya Koch Regional Director in Bahrain

Bringing the total to 66 Regional Directors across the globe. Ms, FRM, MSc will head the new Chapter in Bahrain.

As the largest organization in the world for risk professionals, GARP has an extensive membership reach on 6 continents which makes the local chapter network extremely important. The Regional Directors host chapter meetings in which members of the local risk management community discuss practical issues affecting risk professionals. In addition, they share with other Regional Directors around the world their thought and experiences, as well as serving as a primary resource for GARP's Board of Trustees.

"Local GARP Chapters provide an excellent opportunity for risk professionals to network and exchange ideas, as well as enhance their knowledge with recent developments," stated Ms. Koch. "As a regional director in Bahrain, my aim would be to provide these opportunities to local risk professionals."

Ms. Koch brings to GARP and the new Chapter extensive experience in risk management. She is a Vice President and Head of Risk Management at the United International Bank in Bahrain.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, a post-graduate Certificate in Management Studies from Middlesex University in London and a Master of Science degree in Insurance and Risk Management from the City University Business School, also in London. Prior to joining the United International Bank in February 2007, she was employed by a number of leading companies, including Ryada Capital Investment Company (Kuwait), the Industrial Development Bank of Turkey and Newmark Advisory Limited (London).
