LG launches next-generation Centrino laptops

LG Electronics has introduced four models equipped with higher performance and trendsetting designs. These include the 15.4-inch R500/E500 series, and the 14.1-inch R405 series, and the 12-inch R200 series.

Commenting on the line-up, Mr. C H Lee, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE said:

The Santa Rosa platform consists of Intel Core 2 Duo processor, mobile chip, and the optional up-to-date wireless LAN, and turbo memory, offering high-efficiency and fast wireless Internet specifications.

The R500 and R200 models are packed with the Intel turbo memory that has a markedly improved speed of programme-loading and booting, and with the wireless LAN Intel® Next-Gen Wireless-N that shows a maximum speed of 270Mbps - five times faster than the existing models.

"By utilising Intel's latest platform, LG has created a product portfolio that adds value to customers who prefer complete mobility and quality communications," explained Lee. "The Santa Rosa LG notebooks have been designed to deliver unparalleled user experience and performance of the highest standards."

Also, glossy black and white models (R200), and expanded sleek wave-patterned shapes geared toward a fast speed sense (R500/R405/E500) emphasize unique designs. Of the models, the representative product R500 series boasts of having the best performance among notebooks of the same class.

The R500 model features the Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7500 (2.2GHz, 4MB, FSB 800MHz) CPU, 2GB dual channel memory, 160GB HDD with turbo memory, and an up-to-date 3D graphics 'NVIDIA' GeForce 8600M GS 256MB.

Linking the notebook to a large TV via HDMI port, users can enjoy premium quality video and sound, including video shooting and video chatting features with a useful 1.3 million-pixel webcam. Additionally, it has wave patterns in the exterior aqua-blue cover and the metal silver keyboard deck.

The 12.1-inch LG Widescreen Multimedia Powerhouse R200 supports independent graphics, built-in ODD, and SRS WOW HD sounds, delivering the most powerful multimedia performance in sub-notebooks. Embedding a PR (Port Replicator), which is rare with 12.1-inch notebooks, the R200 offers high expandability.

The 14.1-inch LG Widescreen Entertainment Notebook R405 is the Santa Rosa platform model of the already released R400. In addition to specifications including 1.3MP webcam and 160GB HDD, it features wave patterned high glossy design, as well as the Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7700, and NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 8400M GS graphics, delivering an upgraded performance.

The 15.4-inch LG Widescreen High Performance Notebook E500 is equipped with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7100, 160GB HDD, up-to-date graphics NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M G, 1.3 million-pixel webcam, and an inlaid numeric keypad, appealing to consumers who want high-performance specifications at competitive prices.
