Second consecutive industry win for Dubai Duty Free

Widely regarded as the Oscars of the duty free industry, this is the first time that the much coveted award in the Airport Retailer category has gone to the same duty free operation two years in a row.

Commenting on this latest recognition, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai said: "The Frontier Awards are an industry barometer for excellence and attract entries from all over the world. It is therefore a great achievement to be named Airport Retailer of the Year for the second consecutive year and sets a new benchmark for the industry as a whole."

Senior executives from Dubai Duty Free were present at the Frontier Awards ceremony in Cannes, which is held to coincide with the annual Tax Free World Exhibition.

Accepting the award in Cannes, Mr. Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, said: "Over the years, our goal has been to achieve an industry standard that would position Dubai Duty Free as the best in the world. This award, coming as it does two years running, represents a major vote of confidence from the industry and I take this opportunity to thank all 900 staff who have each contributed towards making Dubai Duty Free such a huge success."
