CA boosts budding talent in the Middle East IT sector

CA has further leveraged its presence at the Software Project Trade Show, a nation-wide project application contest hosted by the University of Wollongong in Dubai.

Saeid Marashi, Director of Industry Development at CA joined the elite industry judging panel to review student projects based on several factors such as innovation, presentation, usability and marketability of their work.

The Software Project Trade Show provided current undergraduate IT students with an opportunity to compete, communicate and showcase their academic interests by presenting software projects undertaken at their respective institutions. The support of CA at the event helped students understand industry requirements and prepare themselves for a career in the field of IT. This fits in with CA's mission, to share its employees, expertise and technology to help students and young aspirants reach their full potential and achieve more in the region's growing IT market.

Commenting on the event, Dr. Farhad Keissarian, Chair of College of Information Technology, University of Wollongong in Dubai said, "We appreciate the efforts of a global IT leader like CA to support us in such events. Our aim is to bridge the gap between the education students receive at university and the job requirements in the field of IT. This is a wonderful example of forging closer ties between the IT industry and leading educational institutions in the region."
