RAK Investment Authority organizes CEOs' meet to explore investment opportunities in RAK

A high profile meet, targeting business leaders and Chief Executive Officers to explore the vast investment opportunities available in Ras Al Khaimah, has been organized by the RAK Investment Authority (RAKIA), the apex government body responsible for the overall socio-economic development of the emirate.
Ras Al Khaimah has been witnessing phenomenal growth during the past few years. The primary thrust areas have been industry, trade, real estate and tourism. Several mega projects are under development in these areas and have provided numerous opportunities to the potential investors.
RAKIA's General Manager Raman Iyer said "the primary objective of this seminar is to relay the success story of the developments of RAK to the outside business world, so that potential business entrepreneurs can invest and profit by participating in the development process of the emirate".
The seminar will provide the participants with an overview of the many available opportunities in RAK.
Saju Augustine, a partner of Morison Menon Group, the co-sponsor of the event, said the seminar will enable close interaction between the attending businessmen and RAKIA, which will result in fruitful investments in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, one of UAE's strongest emerging investment destinations.
The event is expected to target senior level business executives drawn from a wide spectrum of the manufacturing industry. The investors will also be introduced to the numerous facilities available at the new Al Ghayl Industrial Park.
RAK Investment Authority, due to its creative and innovative solutions for global industrial investors and fostering alliances with them, supported by quality services and unrivalled incentives has attracted huge inward investments from all over the world, that contribute to the diversification and growth of Ras Al Khaimah's robust economy.
The last two years since its inception, RAKIA has seen tremendous achievement in growth. Its industrial Zone Phase 1 and 2 and the Free Zone, Phase I at Al Jazira Al Hamra region, have been completely leased out within a short span of 24 months.
Encouraged by this unprecedented growth, RAKIA has also drawn up an ambitious plan to augment investor facilities and to further boost the infrastructure capabilities at the various RAKIA zones, at an investment of over AED 1 billion, enhancing a dynamic and thriving business environment.
Due to its investor friendly and open door policies, it has attracted huge inward investments from all parts of the world and currently, RAKIA has a total of more than 550 registered companies.
Among its various incentives that RAKIA offers to the investors are: a tax-free environment, tariff-free imports for raw materials and capital goods, high quality labor, good infrastructure, and a favorable location that is serviceable by an international airport and seaport.

The RAK Investment Authority was constituted under Emiri Decree No (2)/2005 issued by H.H. Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah with a mandate to work towards reinforcing the investment climate in the Emirate and to promote its various economic sectors.
RAKIA is a nodal-governmental body with financial and managerial independence. It has the mandate of proposing investment policies, supervising their implementation, assessing economic feasibility studies pertaining to investment, and promoting developmental projects and investment opportunities across economic sectors with-in RAK.
Following this, RAKIA facilitates the processing of applications for new projects and supervises the set up and licensing of companies wishing to establish projects in RAK.
