Dubai Internet City Business Partner appraised at CMMI Level 3

Dubai Internet City (DIC) Business Partner, CMA CGM Resources FZ-LLC, Global Development Centre, was appraised at CMMI Level 3 on April 22, 2007 by KPMG, the global network of professional firms providing Audit, Tax, and Advisory services.

The Global Development Centre is composed of 160 employees in charge of designing, developing, deploying, maintaining and supporting many of the CMA CGM Groups applications with the objectives to continuously improve quality, speed of software delivery , services and to ensure faster adaptation to customer needs.

By obtaining this assessment, CMA CGM Resources FZ-LLC is now one of the highest ranking CMMI appraised companies within GCC.

Jamal Abdulsalam, Executive Director DIC and Malek Al Malek, Director Partner Relations Management attended the event and congratulated CMA CGM Resources FZ-LLC on their achievement.

Jamal Abdulsalam said: 'To stay ahead of the competition in knowledge-based sectors the top management has to make intangible investments to improve management capability. This is the only way to sustain growth of a company in an environment of turbulent competition.

Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement framework developed by Software Engineering Institute - Carnegie Melon University, U.S.A in response to challenges experienced by software development and systems integration organizations

Rajeev Lalwani, the Head of the IT Advisory practice at KPMG said, 'This is one of the fastest turnarounds we have seen for a company to achieve this CMMI level, particularly in the region. We believe that this will spark a competition within DIC entities.'

All staff of CMA CGM Resources FZ-LLC was involved in this project, which took 14 months to reach the target. CMA CGM Resources FZ-LLC is now one of the highest ranking CMMI Appraised Company within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC States), together with another Organization in Abu Dhabi that was appraised in early 2007, according to KPMG.
