Mercato & Town Centre's 'Symphony of Summer' has started

Mercato & Town Centre Jumeirah launched their 'Symphony of Summer' on 21st June with a classical concert, to mark the start of Dubai Summer Surprises 2007.

Since music is this year's DSS theme in the two malls, Nova Era, an international band well-known in USA and Europe, is performing exclusively at Mercato throughout the week. Wearing handcrafted 18th century costumes and ornate powdered wigs, typical of the Venetian Baroque period, Mercato is the perfect environment for Nova Era to perform their classical music with its modern twist.

"We had a very busy opening weekend and are proud to welcome shoppers and visitors to this world-class destination, for a summer full of surprises," said Riham Musleh, PR & Corporate Communications Manager of Mercato & Town Centre Jumeirah. "The activities offered during DSS are vital when it comes to entertaining the children. The shows and workshops keep the little ones away from the summer heat and help prevent boredom" Musleh added.

During the first week, Knowledge Surprises 21st- 27th June, Mr. Pascal, the magician, is performing magic games and competitions at Mercato. In addition, City of Stars, an interactive theatre play, educates children about the moon and stars in a fun way. Mad Science will show children how to make safe chemical experiments and learn about science at the same time. At Early Learning Centre, from 11.00 a.m - 1.00 p.m there's a free playtime every Tuesday with a special workshop this coming weekend.

Café Ceramique at Town Centre Jumeirah is offering exciting workshops for children throughout the DSS, with activities such as puzzle frame painting, fruit pops making and fruit tart making.

Of course it is also the perfect time for shopping. Outlets at Mercato & Town Centre Jumeirah such as Next, Nine West, Domino, Aldo, Bershka, Areej, Pull and Bear, Top Shop, Skechers, Armani Jeans, Hugo Boss, Adams, Gianfranco Ferre, Saleh and Bombay are offering special promotions and sales up to 75%.

On a final note, with every spend of a certain amount in Mercato or Town Centre, shoppers could win Dhs 500.000 every week or stand the chance to drive away in a HUMMER H3. PRIVILEGEPLUS members can double their chances of winning by presenting their PRIVILEGEPLUS card at the time of claiming the raffle coupons for the Hummer prize.
