R&M appoints new Technical Director for ME & India operation

Eugene Botes joins R&M as Technical Director, for the Middle East & India region.
Eugene will be responsible for heading up and strengthening the technical support operations for R&M in the ME region & India. This will include leading technical training workshops for partners on R&M structured cabling solutions and technologies for Enterprise and Carrier market sectors in the region as well as providing technical support and backup to sales staff, partners, consultants and end users.
"This latest invaluable addition to the R&M team in the region is a logical step for our company to support future expansion plans in the Middle East. Eugene brings in-depth knowledge and experience to his role, where he will work closely with me and the rest of the R&M team to ensure that we provide superior technical know-how and support to our partners and customers in this region," said Laurent Amestoy, Regional Managing Director, R&M Middle East & Africa.
The appointment of a Technical Director at R&M Middle East highlights R&M's continuous commitment to excellence in the field of structured cabling solutions in the region.
Eugene will bring with him more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Eugene started his career as a radio technician, and completed the first proper structured cabling installation in South Africa in 1988 and the largest multimode fibre installation in South Africa in 1990.
"I am proud to join the R&M team here in the region and to play a key role in growing R&Ms presence in the MEA," said Eugene Botes, Technical Director, R&M, Middle East & India.
Prior to joining R&M, Eugene was involved with Structured Cabling Systems "SCS" installations, sales, procurement and project management. Also he was the first BICSI RCDD and RCDD/NTS in Africa, and a Certified BICSI RCDD Trainer for Africa and the Middle East.
