UAE gas diverted to power plants

The UAE is diverting gas from oil projects to power generation plants as domestic demand for power rises with the onset of summer, Reuters reported. Around 50% of gas earmarked to maintain pressure in oil reservoirs to maximise crude output is being diverted. Power generation demand is seasonal, energy minister Mohaammad bin Dha'en said.
