TAQA Global appoints new Head of Health and Safety

The Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (ADSM: TAQA) this week has underscored its corporate commitment to the global health, safety, and environment of its operations with the appointment of Jos Schiffelers as its new Head of HSSE.
"TAQA values the health and safety of its more than 2,000 employees above everything else," said Peter Barker Homek, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC.
"We are most fortunate to have Jos Schiffelers as our new Head of HSSE, a position which requires expert level organizational and decision making skills, often in times of extreme duress, and a thorough understanding of the policies and practices that will ensure that safety remains TAQA's top priority."
Schiffelers has more than 25 years of European and North American industry experience with Exxon and BP, most recently as the HSE Manager for BP Netherlands.
In March of 2007, TAQA created a global crisis management team to support its growing international operations, which now span nine countries across four continents.
Last year, TAQA was presented with the Emerging Market Deal of the Year and Middle East Corporate Bond of the Year 2006 awards by EuroWeek.
