Dubai School of Government holds reception in Vienna

The Dubai School of Government organised a reception at Hilton Danube, Vienna, to mark the participation of the 120-strong Arab delegation at the UN's 7th Global Forum on Reinventing Government.

Nabil Al Yousuf, Executive President of DSG, Dr. Yasar Jarrar, Executive Dean of DSG and Dr. Tarek Yousef, Dean of DSG, received the guests who included members of the Arab diplomatic corps in Vienna and other dignitaries. The reception also honoured delegation sponsors National Bank of Dubai and Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

Abdel Shakur Tahlak, Senior Manager of International Affairs, NBD, said: "It is an honour to be part of an international forum to celebrate the success of Dubai and the UAE as model for good governance. We are grateful to the Dubai School of Government for this opportunity."

Michelle Peterman, Director of DTCM, Austria Office, said: "We are proud to sponsor the Arab delegation to the UN Forum, which is a perfect platform to highlight the milestones in our public services and share our expertise with other delegations.

DSG is partnering with Arab governments and international research and academic institutions to help promote best practices in the Arab world.

Dubai School of Government is a member of the Global Forum's Institutional Partners Group. The UN forum runs until 29 June.

A Regional Institution for the Arab World

The Dubai School of Government is a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world. Established in 2004 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, the school aims to promote good governance by enhancing the region's capacity for effective public policy.

Toward this goal, the Dubai School of Government collaborates with international institutions such as Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in its research and training programs. In addition, the school organizes policy forums and international conferences to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote critical debate on public policy in the Arab world.
