Sayegh Group takes part in University of Jordan's Graduate Day event

As part of its strategy and social responsibility, socially conscious Sayegh Group took part in the University of Jordan's 'Graduate Day' activity.

The commemorative event which was organized by the University's Faculty of Science was held on June 15th, 2007, at the University of Jordan's campus, under the patronage of Dr. Khalid Al Karaki, President of Jordan University.

Mr. Michael Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Al Sayegh Group, took part in the discussion session entitled 'Graduate of the Faculty of Science and business experience held as part of the event. The discussion served as a venue for exchanging ideas and providing a space for sharing experiences from Jordan's changing corporate scene, and to bridge the gap between the different age groups whereby experienced members of the faculty's alumni and prominent businessmen shared their experiences in the corporate world.

'We are proud to be taking part in this event, as this initiative from Jordan University's Faculty of Science, echoes our firm belief in the power of education as a molder of minds.

We at Al Sayegh Group are firm believers in the role the university plays and the need of events such as this one to expand the students' horizons. We also believe that it is imperative for us to be part of similar events and assist in fulfilling the upcoming generations' demands and needs, and equip them to enter the business world with confidence and knowledge.' commented Mr. Sayegh, upon his participation in the event.

Prominent figures attending this event included Dr. Adnan Badran Jordan's former Prime Minister, Dr. Hazim Nasser Jordan's former Minister of Water and Irrigation, Dr Mohammad Hamdan Jordan's Former Minister of Education and Current Secretary General for Jordan's Higher Council for Science and Technology, Dr. Hala Hurani Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Jordan, Mr. Michael Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Al Sayegh group. Also attending, Dr. Ma'en Nsour Executive Director of Jordan Investment Board

Sayegh Group firmly believes in participating efficiently in different social activities and has continuously contributed to various initiatives. To name a few of such initiatives, National Paints (part of Sayegh Group) has finished the first phase of re-painting of old Amman in co-operation with Greater Amman Municipality. It had also supported the Vote for Petra campaign to see it become one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Sayegh group also contributed to Jordan's sports scene by adopting Nadine Handouma the rising Teakwondu star.
