The new Rhapsody collection from Mikimoto.
The collections are inspired by the endless charm of the ocean, the surge of its waves, its endless motions and constantly changing scenes, and most importantly, its intimate relationship with the precious gem it holds deep within its bosom - the pearl. Teaming the sparkle of diamonds and sapphires with the sheen of cultured pearls in white gold, it offers an array of jewels such as chains, pendants, earrings and rings, orchestrated to perfection. While Blue Rhythms is a range echoing the magic of the pearl's natural habitat, Rhapsody celebrates the wild freedom and abandon of the sea, in an unabashed display of pure artistry.

Mr. Tawhid Abdullah, Managing Director of Damas, remarks,

"Mikimoto's latest collections are sure to gain a strong following in the region due to the contemporary appeal of its jewellery pieces which can be worn for formal and casual occasions. Both Blue Rhythms and Rhapsody are minimalist lines where the pearl reigns supreme. As pioneers of the cultured pearl way back in 1893 and with an outpouring of grand jewellery creations down the years, Mikimoto's latest collections once again reiterate its status as one of the finest jewellers in the world."

It is this famous design sensibility that makes the Blue Rhythms and Rhapsody collections voice their tributes to the bewitching beauty of the ocean and its wonderous gem - the pearl. You will catch the sparkle of the sun's rays on the water in its pave diamonds, the spectrum of its billion blues in its sapphires and in its pearly orbs you will discover its most precious secrets.

Blue Rhythms

It is a collection that recreates the undulating pulse of the sea, the unceasing beat of its waves and the undying ebb and flow of its tides. Exquisite pieces, which capture for eternity the sparkling moments that will long be cherished, include a poignant pendant on a smooth arc of white gold chain which features a brilliantly encrusted orb of blue sapphires and diamonds from which tiny sapphires and diamonds step down in alternate tempo, to hold one perfect South Sea pearl, that says how special, and exclusive its wearer is. Match it with earrings that echo the charming pattern to create magic. The design is available in both white and black South Sea pearls with the pendant also available on a delicate chain of white gold. The collection's white gold ring replicates the 'in - out' pattern in diamonds, sapphires and pearls in a fetching manner that is simply irresistible.

Rhapsody

In this line of jewels you will discover that the curl of a wave can hold a pearl in its clasp and never let it go. 'It belongs to me alone!' it seems to say. (And who would disagree?) In these high-end Mikimoto creations the rapture of the sea is recreated in all its glory as it plays with its delectable orbs, tossing them, turning them, holding them up like a trophy just won, in turn making this, one of the most delightful lines to wear. White gold then melds fluid shapes richly sprinkled with pave diamonds, whose million rays bounce off the moonlight veneer of a dazzling blue or white pearl, in its pendant, earrings and ring.

Ruling supreme in a realm that marries the Japanese love for aesthetics with western haute glamour, Mikimoto creates jewels that are timeless. As the realization of one man's dream to offer pearl jewellery "to adorn the necks of all women of the world," this famous brand continues to astonish with its elegant and beautiful creations.

Mikimoto's Blue Rhythms and Rhapsody collections are available in Saks Fifth Avenue and Damas Les Exclusives Boutiques in Burj Al Arab, Mina A' Salam and the Mall of the Emirates.
