Mideast oil consumption up

Oil consumption in the Middle East region increased by 3.7% last year, when compared to 2005, but actual crude production rose by just 0.7%, according to Reuters citing figures provided by BP. The ongoing major economic development in the region was the reason for the spike in consumption. The Middle East came third behind China and the CIS countries in oil consumption growth.
