Ajman Sewerage (Pvt.) Company Ltd has requested owners and managers of the first batch of properties to prepare their buildings to link-up with the system's main network.

Under the supervision of a project management team established by the company and Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, a manual detailing connection specifications and guidelines is being provided to each property owner to ensure that the connection conforms with the system requirements.

"Property owners can engage their own contractors to do the interior connection work or use the services of contractors short listed by the company under the directives of the municipality," said Olivier Crasson, General Manager of Ajman Sewerage.

"Residents are urged to cooperate with property owners and operators to undertake their interior connection as soon as possible so that we can meet the deadlines set for the project to be fully operational. The initial commissioning process for the system can only start when flows from a sufficient number of households are available to charge the system.

"Our customers will soon start experiencing the substantial benefits of the sewerage system - a healthier environment, a more vibrant economy, and a more attractive property investment destination, which will all combine to make Ajman a better place for living."

A precise schedule has been prepared for all the emirate's areas to connect to the main sewerage system, which will serve 75,000 homes and businesses on 12,500 plots of land when fully operational, processing 50,000 cubic metres of sewage into irrigation quality water every day.

Under the project theme of 'Go green, Ajman', the treated water has the potential to transform large tracts of desert areas into grassed or arable land.
