- PRESS RELEASE
Top management of the Global Distribution Alliance (GDA), an alliance that brings together over 40 leading logistics and transportation providers in the world, met recently in Jordan to evaluate the substantial growth achieved under the management of Aramex (DFM: ARMX).
With over $7.5bn combined revenues, 12,000 offices, 30,000 vehicles and 66,000 employees, the GDA allows its members to strategically offer timely and trustworthy solutions for an extensive worldwide customer base. Heading the global alliance is Aramex which ensures top of line technologies and financial expertise, as well as highly qualified human resources are allocated appropriately across the global network.
Over 140 delegates from the GDA's worldwide network assessed the success factors that contributed to the double-digit growth in shipments and weights handled by the alliance since its establishment. They also discussed the global best practices, the latest trends, and the forthcoming global strategies.
Commenting on the seminar, Adrian Horsley, Aramex Chief Express Officer, said: "Leading the GDA over the last few years has had a tremendous impact on the development of Aramex' global expansion strategy. Access to the world's most comprehensive IT infrastructure and the rich collective expertise of the various member companies played a great role in enhancing our service offerings.
"Similar forums have become essential tools for setting new trends and ascertaining global best practices for the entire logistics and transportation industry.
"They also provide excellent opportunities for ambitious players such as Aramex to explore strategic growth and expansion prospects both geographically and organically".
During this year's two-day seminar, the GDA member companies discussed the recent key strategic partnerships with national airlines, postal organizations and multinational companies. In addition to that, the delegates discussed the scene in emerging markets as well as new product sales outlook in various regions of the world. They participated too in various sessions focused on the regional operations and sales development trends in the Asian, Eastern European, North American and African regions as well as technology and system enhancement best practices, and quality service compliance and improvement.
