DP World Vice Chairman Sir John Parker appointed to by the British Prime Minister

Sir John Parker, Vice Chairman of global marine terminal operator DP World Limited (DP World), and formerly Chairman of British ports and maritime company P&O Group Plc, has been appointed as a member of the Business Council for Britain.
The Council, which is comprised of a number of senior British business leaders, has been established to advise the Prime Minister on matters relating to enterprise and the British economy.
Commenting on Sir John's appointment to the Business Council for Britain, HE Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World said: "I would like to congratulate Sir John Parker on his appointment to the Business Council for Britain. I am delighted that Sir John has been recognized in this way by the British Prime Minister. Over many years he has made a huge contribution to British business, not least of all through his stewardship of P&O, and he is of course now a highly valued member of our board at DP World."

That capacity is set to increase significantly in coming years with a committed pipeline of expansion and development projects in key growth markets, including India, China and the Middle East. Capacity will rise to around 84 million TEU by 2016.
