Following the distributor agreement, MEC has been granted a non-exclusive license to market products originated and developed by GPN. This includes SONbuddy software which is specifically targeted at wifi device manufacturers, health care providers, enterprises, colleges and universities; while the SONaccess solution will be targeting at enterprises, government offices, finance companies and telco providers. The SONmetro wireless broadband technology will also be offered to telcos, financial institutions, governments, education, and the oil and gas industry in the near future.

Dr. Al Mashat added.
MEC is a pioneering communications company and a member of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), which was set up in 1996 to cater to the increasing demand for high quality and reliable communications and information services.
GPN is a joint venture between Green Packet Berhad, a Malaysian-based technology company listed on the MESDAQ Market of Bursa Malaysia and Saudi Economic and Development Co. a Saudi-based investment company.
