Acting Clinical Director of the ADBB, Dr. Naima Oumeziane commented, "There was a very enthusiastic response and we were all impressed by the interest of the staff to participate in this important activity. During 2006, the ADBB collected 10,000 units of blood and 500 units of Platelets Aphaeresis, with another 10,000 units of blood and 300 units of Platelets Aphaeresis already collected during the first quarter of 2007. UAE nationals, who represent 15 per cent of all donors, are the largest number of donors amongst the many different nationalities that give blood each year.

With 35 per cent of our staff being UAE nationals, we are a very community-oriented company, and it is therefore important for us to support such a valuable and life-saving mission,"
