Omantel consortium qualifies to bid for second mobile phone provider's license in Qatar

Oman Telecommunications Company (SAOG) yesterday announced that Omantel consortium has been qualified to bid for the second mobile phone provider in the State of Qatar.
It is expected that the Higher Council for Communications and Information Technology would announce the winner of the license next October.
Omantel said that its entering into the competition to win second mobile phone license in the State of Qatar is part of the company's strategic plans to involve, individually or collectively, in international investments, tap new external markets, diversify its income mix and expand the size of its activities as well as explore new horizons in international ever growing telecom markets.
