Gitex growth curtailed

Gitex is not expected to grow until after 2010 due to a shortage of hotel rooms in Dubai, Gulf News reported. The annual technology exhibition has seen double digit increases in attendance over the past few years, according to organisers. The event was sold out in 2006 with 3,269 exhibitors from 79 countries. Rebranded as Gitex Technology Week, this year's event will be grouped in three categories: Gitex Business Solutions, Gulfcomms and Consumer Electronics.
