Social networking and online video have replaced music as the driver of digital media growth, according to Ipsos Insight's "The Face of the Web 2006" study. It found that 36% of US internet users watched a TV show or streaming video online by the end of 2006, up from 28% in 2005. Globally 20% of adults have visited social networking sites, with South Korea leading this trend with 49% of adults visiting.
