Sharjah Municipality shuts down warehouse
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, July 08 - 2007 at 12:54
- PRESS RELEASE
Discovery of cooling gas compressors lead to legal closure of Shurouk Al Shams Rubber Trading Co.
The inspectors confiscated several gas containers with the trademark Panatonic, a counterfeit of the original Panasonic as well as a large quantity of stickers with original and fake brand and trademark names, which were being used to label the compressors with no trademarks.
Fahad Al Shehail, Manager of the Consumer Protection Department said, "Our inspection in the industrial areas has led to the discovery of these gas compressors without trademarks, which is a direct violation of the Federal Law 4, established in 1979, which covers the subject of fake trademarks. Al Shams Rubber Co. was further violating their trade license by conducting activities over and above their original purpose, which is trading cars and vehicle spare parts".
He added, "Our team was very effective in their inspection and as soon as they contacted the Emergency Inspection Committee in Sharjah Municipality, a report was made of the large amounts of fake compressors stored in dangerous conditions, which led to the immediate shut down of the company".
Sharjah Municipality has evacuated the compressors from the warehouse and stored them in a safe place, as per guidelines of the Civil Defense Department rules.
